Meet The Hosts

Chris M

I am an avid outdoors-man that enjoys wheeling my 1995 Jeep Wrangler in the Sierra Nevada mountains as often as possible.  Married with three children, two of which are adults and the third growing quickly into a teenager. Started off-roading as an escape from the crazy working world I endure. I enjoy modifying my rig and thinking about the next upgrades.

Future upgrades? Bigger front axle and bigger tires. When? I have no freaking idea. In the meantime, I’m going to wheel what I have.

Favorite wine just happens to be any red zinfandel, but I am a big fan of the really good old vine varietals.

I have been wheeling since 1989 and built my CJ5 into a rock crawler to traverse the  toughest of trails. Rubicon, Fordyce, Barrett, Moab and Hammers to name a few of my favorite trails. I love every aspect of wheeling. From building a capable rig, to meeting some incredibly cool people out on the trail. There is no substitute for the “Mountain Therapy” you get in the High Sierras.

I began dabbling in wine in 1997 and got instantly hooked. I am a foodie and having a great red wine to complement your meal is good living. I began home winemaking in 2005 and that made me appreciate good quality wine even more. It has been a lot of work, but fun to hand out to your friends and tell you that it’s actually pretty good.

As far as whiskey goes, that was the first hard liquor I truly enjoyed. It is great to sample all the different ones and taste all the numerous flavor profiles. Nothing better than to end a great day around A campfire, sipping on some great whiskey with your friends!

Other interest include skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, camping, pretty much anything outdoors.

I live by the mottos “ Work Hard,Play Harder!” And “I Don’t Live to Work, I Work to Live!”
